Turn off "Show Subject Field" to type in Body field directly
If you want to skip inputting Subject, you should turn off the option in iPhone Settings. Then Subject field went away and you can start typing in Body field directly.

- Cut an onion.
- Stir them together then drizzle soy sauce Ponzu sauce.

No, it still remains. Whether my iPhone 3GS is already 3.1.3, it goes down with entering at least "あ", "こ", "さ" and "。". Having done operations above to resolve this issue.
