Removing rust from iPhone dock connector and dock-USB cable (UPDATED: Don't spray directly!)

UPDATE

DO NOT SPRAY CLEANER TO iPhone DIRECTLY. If you do, the water-tamper detection sticker will change from white to blue, which will void your warranty.

I had known that issue so I didn't spray to iPhone and a cable directly. I had a piece of cotton damped with only low DN5. Then wiped rust off very carefully.

Thanks Eido.

Matter

Message "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" pops up repeatedly.

Resolution

Clean dock connectors of both iPhone and dock-USB cable. I used Caig DeoxIT® DN5 spray.

Details

Some kind of water might be in dock port of my iPhone or 30pin terminal of a dock-USB cable. And it perhaps caused a short circuit when I connected them to a power source; USB port.

Then that cable became not working. It didn't let any devices to be recognized, moreover 30pin terminal got a fever higher and higher while it's connected to power sources.

I went to Genius Bar in Apple Store. A staff found that rust (or patina?) was stuck to both iPhone and cable. I guess iPhone had detected it as an accessory so that it showed the message. He advised me to clean up my iPhone's dock port exactly.

So I did it with DN5, cotton and Japanese toothpick. Then iPhone and the cable became fine again. Well-done.

Two apps for entering symbols at ease

iOS 4から追加されたキーボードの顔文字に追加する場合は読みをにすると追加されます。この顔マークの記号自体も辞書登録しておくと良いでしょう。

Unicode; an application for iOS devices is useful to enter symbols like. For instance when you write SMS.

Unicode Unicode (230 JPY)

Also Glyphboard. This app is built with HTML5 and works without connection to the net.

Another problem going on with Apple devices (UPDATED: It's NOT Apple's fault but mine, perhaps)

UPDATE

My case might turned out to be my fault. Some kind of water was in dock port of my iPhone or 30pin terminal of a dock cable. And it perhaps caused a short circuit when my iPhone connected to USB port with that cable.

Anyone else having the same message pop up repeatedly?

Immediately after activating my phone and restoring my data, this message starts popping up for no reason I can identify.

No audio from iTunes, video files, or applications coming from the bottom speakers (only available via headphones).

Ringtone, alarms, and regular speakerphone work without any problem.

Never plugged into an accessory device and bluetooth has remained off since delivery...

It's madness...or perhaps a spooky ghost device haunting my new iPhone 4...

iPhone 4 reception matter, iTunes accounts hacked and here's a new worldwide level problem. No accessory = "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone..." To date, the situation has not improved.

iTunes accounts hacking more widespread than initially thought. The facts, and what you should do.

The Facts

  • A number of iTunes accounts have been hacked from across the globe, not just the US, and used to purchase apps.

What you should do

  • Check your itunes previous purchases. If you spot anything you haven’t personally purchased contact Apple and your bank to try prevent any iTunes purchases from clearing.
  • Get in contact with Apple.
    Email link.
or the website “Get Human” lists this for Apple: 800-275-2273
To talk to a real person: press 0 at eac prompt, ignoring messages.
  • Change your itunes password
  • Remove your iTunes card details and consider using gift cards where possible.

Okay. I've done completely.
